Migrating to Github powered website

This blog has migrated to a new home at ethomasjoseph.com - a domain which owned for long. For a long time this blog was hosted at the domain tech.ethomasjoseph.com but was still powered by Blogger. As of today, the migration to ethomasjoseph.com is complete, after the completing the 301 redirect setup for  tech.ethomasjoseph.com.

Why?

I started using Blogger since 2006 for blogging. Even though I was not a posting frequently, I always felt restricted in the flexibility that Blogger provided me.
  • The web based editor is very restricted in what editing capabilities - especially when posting code snippets.
  • It is simply too complicated to customize the look and feel of the website. Blogger has its own syntax and style of how the Blogger template should be customized. I simply cannot use my tooling - SASS, LESS, NodeJS based workflows etc for any of these customization.
  • I want to get away from Google. Google is becoming creepy each day. I have already changed by default search engine, and now the blogging platform. The G+ comments are also creepy and crappy, which you can't avoid nor migrate. I am getting rid of all my comments accumulated over the past years in G+, and moving to Disqus for comments.
The new website apart from hosting this blog, will be home to pages, and articles and lot of good features.
I am dicussing more on this migration on my new website - ethomasjoseph.com. See you there!
